DISASTER READINESS FOR SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS

Madelyn Flannagan and Rick Jenkins will answer questions Thursday, May 24, 2007 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., EDT

WHO: Madelyn H. Flannagan, vice president of Education and Research for the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America, Inc., and Rick Jenkins of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Office of Disaster Assistance will host the SBA’s May Web chat “Disaster Readiness for Small Business Owners.” The Web chat is simultaneous with Hurricane Preparedness Week, May 20-26, 2007.

WHAT: Web Chat participants will have the opportunity to learn more about adequate insurance coverage for their business or home, as well as emergency readiness and preparedness planning for small businesses, including business continuity.

Flannagan and Jenkins will share their expertise in disaster preparedness and answer questions about how to best prepare for physical disasters, including how to minimize property damage and economic loss and lay the groundwork for recovery. Chat participants will also be able to ask questions about the SBA’s disaster assistance program.

WHEN: Thursday, May 24, 2007, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., ET.
Flannagan and Jenkins will answer questions for one hour.
